AC Highway 61 is a striking bicolor formal decorative bred by Ken Greenway of Accent Dahlias and introduced in 2015. Her blooms open with a rich deep red to burgundy center that fades outward into cream-white, creating a dramatic contrast that feels a little different from flower to flower.

The petals often recurve slightly toward the stem, giving the bloom more dimension than a flat decorative form, while the dark foliage makes the pale outer petals and red center stand out even more.

🌱 2027 Grow-Out

AC Highway 61 will arrive at Hedge & Alchemy in Spring 2027 and will be grown here for the first time that season. She will not be offered in our 2027 tuber sale.

🌱 Growing Notes

  • Bloom: Fully double formal decorative flowers with a deep red center that transitions outward to cream-white petals. The amount of red and white can vary from bloom to bloom.
  • Plant Height & Habit: Approximately 4 to 4½ feet tall, with a vigorous upright habit and notably dark foliage.
