American Sunset is a bold, dual-toned dahlia bred by Peter Komen in Breezand, North Holland. Her blooms combine luminous cantaloupe-orange, apricot, and golden peach with striking red-orange petal reverses, creating a layered effect that really does resemble a glowing sunset.
The darker reverse of each petal becomes visible as the bloom opens and curves outward, giving the flower far more depth than a typical orange dahlia. The result is warm, saturated, and beautifully dimensional without relying on subtle color shifts.
